How To Fix Duplicate Content Issues – Quick SEO Tutorial
Duplicate content can mean one of your webpages is not making it into the search results of Google or Bing. When webpages have duplicate content it’s important to tell the search engine bots which is the original.
In this guide I will show you have to tell the Google or Bing bot how to know which webpage contains the original content so they know which one to rank in their search results.
The method we use in this video is called a canonical tag. This HTML tag is inserted into the head section of html code. There are two easy methods to do this without dipping into the code itself.
1. Use your SEO plugin’s advanced settings to add a canonical link on the duplicate page.
2. Add the canonical HTML tag manually using an “insert into head” plugin.
