How to do an SEO Audit step-by-step tutorial (2022)
Let’s talk about how to do an SEO audit. In this video, we’ll talk about the things I look for when I’m performing an SEO audit whether that’s for an SEO client or for my own projects.
We’re going to start off by looking at google search console, which is the closest we can get to Google telling us what they think of our website. Using search console is going to let Google tell us if there’s any real significant errors that they’ve found. It’s essential to start off with google search console.
We then move on to taking a look at Google Analytics just to have a general idea of the growth of this website, has it improved over the last 6 months / 1 year, or has it worsened. It’s important to realize at what point of this company’s growth we’re working with.
We then move on to taking a look at the keywords and having a solid breakdown of the traffic and understanding where most of the traffic is coming from for this specific website. The important thing here is we want to make sure that the target keywords are closely related to the keywords that are actualyl bringing this company traffic.
While i’m taking a look at the best performing pages I also like to peep under the hood and take a look at some on-page factors to make sure that everything is set up correctly.
We finish this audit by taking a quick look at the websites backlinks. We basically want to focus on the quality and trend of acquiring backlinks. We also want to check to make sure that there aren’t any toxic backlinks coming in.
